4 Dead, 2 Wounded In Garden Grove, Santa Ana Stabbing Spree; Man Arrested

GARDEN GROVE (CBSLA)  — A 33-year-old man has been arrested in a series of violent stabbing attacks in Garden Grove Wednesday evening which left four people dead and two more critically wounded.

The first of what appears to be five related attacks occurred at an apartment complex on Jentges Avenue. Police responded to a burglary in progress call just before 4:10 p.m. One person was fatally stabbed here with another person reported critical. The critical patient was sent to a nearby hospital where he was also declared dead. The victims at this scene were a 62-year-old white man and a Hispanic man of unknown age.

Just before 4:30 p.m., a robbery was reported at a bakery in the 13000 block of Chapman Avenue. Witnesses said the suspect had a knife and a gun. No one was hurt at this location.

At 5:40 p.m., police said the suspect entered a check cashing business — Cash and More — in the 12000 block of Chapman Avenue. No injuries were reported here. Around 6:05 p.m., a robbery was reported at an insurance business in the 12800 block of Chapman. A 54-year-old Hispanic employee was stabbed. She is expected to make a full recovery.
