PORTLAND, Ore. — The Portland City Council voted to approve the 2020-2021 budget 3-1 Wednesday, which included $16 million in funding cuts to the Portland Police Bureau.
The move would also dissolve the Gun Violence Reduction Team, School Resource Officers and the Transit Division Program.
The funding will be redirected to social services programs.
Commissioner Chloe Eudaly was the only commissioner to vote 'no' on the budget, but she said she supports the amendments that were made.
