A gun-rights group is again suing Florida State University claiming that although the school amended its student handbook allowing concealed weapons in vehicles, it still prohibits rifles and shotguns.
Filed last week in Leon Circuit Court, the lawsuit by Florida Carry names FSU President John Thrasher and the university and claims that both had no authority to ban the possession of firearms in private vehicles or to regulate ammunition, as laid out in the student handbook.
The organization claims it has numerous members who attend FSU and travel to the school in private vehicles.
