Gun owner voices hope that gun bans will be overturned

Gun owners throughout California voiced concern after the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned two lower court judges and upheld California's ban on high-capacity magazines Tuesday.

"It's silly; it's ridiculous and it's insulting," said Executive Director for Gun Owners of California Sam Paredes. "You cannot use these judicial balancing tests of a governmental interest versus a right. A right is a right."

Paredes has fought for years against the state's decisions on gun rights. He says he has faith that the bans will eventually reach the Supreme Court and be overturned altogether.

"I have faith because they don't participate in these judicial balance tests," said Paredes. "When you have judges on the supreme court that have already said something like that is off the table. They would look at it and ask why they would do that with the first amendment or the fifth amendment. No."
