Hispanic residents of El Paso are taking to firearms classes in order to become certified to carry a concealed gun following this month's mass shooting at a Walmart store in the Texas city.
An increasing number of residents of the predominantly Latino city are signing up after gunman Patrick Crusius, 21, told police he had targeted Mexicans in the horrific shooting which killed 22 people and left 26 injured.
Michael McIntyre, general manager of Gun Central, one of the largest gun shops in El Paso and the host of the classes, said his store had seen its sales double in the week following the attack.
He said: 'I have over 50 for this Saturday class and approximately the same amount for the Sunday class, and I normally have approximately seven.
