WEST MONROE, La. - It's a quiet neighborhood nestled on the outskirts of Riverbend Elementary, a gun free zone, yet, Sunday, shots were fired.
"You don't need no gun out here, people are peaceful," said Horace Brown.
Our content partners at The News Star confirmed with West Monroe police that 17-year-old Tomaz Austin, gave a stolen gun to three juveniles.
One of the juveniles then fired the gun at one of the other kids.This all happened around the area of South 8th and Austin Avenue in West Monroe.
Brown says, it's unfortunate this happened close to the place he calls home.
