TRIGFIT AND GUNDYNAMICS.COM MAKE HISTORY WITH FIRST CROWDSOURCED 1911 TRIGGER

The world’s first crowdfunding website for firearms and firearms-related products, GunDynamics.com, has announced a new project that’s open for crowdfunding: the ST1911 by TrigFit. A patent-pending creation, the ST1911 is a 3-in-1 trigger designed for the M1911 pistol, which was developed while Trigfit was working on a submission for the US Army’s XM-17 Modular Handgun System.

Whatever the M1911 pistol, the TrigFit ST1911 allows trigger length of pull options
like never before (Guns.com/2018/04/30/trigfit-st1911-offers-three-triggers-in-one-for-the-1911-platform/).

Originally intended to afford soldiers the option of reconfiguring their handguns in the field, the ST1911 wasn’t introduced into the MHS competition, but it’s now offered to 1911 enthusiasts in Gun Dynamics.

Trigfit saw the need for M1911 lovers as they only had four sizes of aftermarket triggers, namely short, medium, long and extra-long. Trigfit’s ST1911 is envisioned to be the product that gives 1911 shooters the option to “let the trigger adjust to fit the finger”. Simply put, their new tech gives 1911 shooters the ability to custom-adjust the length of their trigger pull with just one aftermarket trigger. Once unboxed, the ST1911 is set for the shortest pull, but can be adjusted to extra-long settings by making 10 rotations of its adjustment key. The key is marked, so users can track the trigger length when adjusting to the desired pull. When the trigger is set and the key is taken off, the trigger automatically locks itself into place.

The TrigFit ST1911 is a “drop-in” style of trigger and is quite simple to install, but
getting a certified gunsmith to do the installing is recommended
(Guns.com/2018/04/30/trigfit-st1911-offers-three-triggers-in-one-for-the-1911-platform/).

The Trigfit ST1911 fits most 1911 frames and doesn’t require any special fitting, but installing the trigger is best left to a certified gunsmith. According to Trigfit reps, “What makes the ST1911 so effective and fun is the platform’s patent-pending ‘Echo Calibration’ technology which provides the shooter with the ability to adjust the ST1911 to his or her finger in real time. This allows 1911s fitted with the TrigFit ST1911 trigger to be passed from hand to hand while allowing each shooter to custom adjust the trigger to a comfortable position. Experts and novices like (can) enjoy the discovery process of calibrating their ST1911s to their desired length.”

With a few twists of the adjustment key, M1911 owners can set the ST1911 trigger to have short to extra-long pulls (Guns.com/2018/04/30/trigfit-st1911-offers-three-triggers-in-one-for-the-1911-platform/).

TrigFit’s crowdfunding goal is $50,000 and has raised $3,135 as of this writing. Once TrigFit has attained its goal, the ST1911 is expected to begin shipping in September of 2018.
