Nestled in the very far, back corner of the NRA 2018 showroom, one might worry that the “Shoot Like a Girl” (SLG2) booth would resemble a barren wasteland…and they would be incorrect. Crowds of women packed the booth, waiting their turn to venture into the SLG2 trailer. TFB caught up with the president and founder of the program, Karen Butler to find out more about what it means to “Shoot Like a Girl”.

Women from all across the country came together at the Shoot Like a Girl booth during NRA 2018.
Shoot Like a Girl Mission
Put simply, the program is designed to “empower women to participate in shooting sports with confidence by providing them with an opportunity to shoot a pistol, rifle, and bow in a safe, controlled and women friendly environment.” This is accomplished by the state-of-the art 53 ft mobile range featuring a military grade firearms simulation system and a live archery range. The trailer highlights the fact that shooting sports is a viable option for people with physical challenges and/or regardless of physical fitness level.
