Russian jet is Spotted Testing Anti-Satellite Weapon that will be Ready for Use by 2022

A previously unseen Russian missile spotted being carried by a fighter jet during a test last month is a 'mock-up' of an anti-satellite weapon, U.S. intelligence sources claim.

The anti-satellite missile, capable of wiping out essential navigation, communications and intelligence technology 'will be ready for warfare by 2022', according to CNBC.

There have been talks about President Vladimir Putin developing anti-satellite missiles for years, but reports suggests he may now be close to the finish line.

The Mikoyan MiG-31 is a supersonic interceptor and is one of very few aircraft available to reach the edge of space.
