The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives must turn over statistical data from its Firearms Tracing System database as part of a FOIA request, a federal court ruled Monday, Bloomberg Law reports. The Everytown for Gun Safety Support Fund requested data on firearms used in suicides or attempted suicides that were recovered by law enforcement and traced by ATF. Neither of two ATF’s arguments against disclosure of the records holds water, said U.S. District Judge Alison Nathan in New York City.
