CHICAGO, IL – Authorities say that a man released on $500 bail for a robbery is now on the run, despite having another bond revoked in a sexual assault case because of the same robbery.
In 2018, Rene Chandler was arrested and charged with allegedly sexually assaulting two women in separate encounters. At the time, the official charges levied against Chandler were one count of felony criminal sexual assault causing bodily harm and one count of felony criminal sexual assault with consent.
One of the alleged sexual assaults involved a 22-year-old woman who told police that Chandler forced himself onto her at a party while she was “kicking and screaming,” and that she managed to knee Chandler in the face.
